About
Tim K Johnson is an American Photography artist based in Southeast Louisiana. Tim received a BA with a concentration in Photography from Southeastern Louisiana University in Spring 2020.
When photographing, Tim primarily focuses on documenting the value placed on objects in our culture and is interested in finding objects and settings that show how fickle and subjective value truly is, and how this sense of value can change over time on objects based on our relative perspective of them. Whether he is photographing objects in a hotel's lost & found, or the collections of a recently deceased relative, it interests him to capture this sense of transition from an object being considered invaluable to ultimately being considered almost worthless, and vice versa. Tim approaches his subject matter with a documentary approach, with a particular emphasis on showing the process through which an object transitions into gaining or losing its inherent value. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Tim’s work has grown and evolved into what it is today. Through this continued growth and evolution, he hopes to continue honing in on this subject matter and connect these concepts to his viewers.
